Karen Elizabeth Jackson, BA (Honours), Notary Public

A graduate of University College London with a First Class degree in French with Italian, the notary studied German to A Level and has undertaken courses in Spanish at the Istituto Cervantes in London. She is a keen linguist. She studied at Jussieu and Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris and previously worked at the OECD in Paris as a translator.

A practising solicitor with her own specialist employment practice, www.didlaw.com, the notary trained at Mishcon de Reya in London and was formerly Head of Legal and in house counsel for L'Oreal UK. Whilst at L'Oreal she frequently engaged the services of a Notary Public. Following completion of a Postgraduate Diploma in Notarial Practice at the University of Cambridge she was awarded her Faculty to practice as a Notary Public.

The notary has considerable commercial experience gleaned from her earlier career in banking when she worked for Arthur Andersen, J P Morgan and Union Bank of Switzerland. At L'Oreal she was Company Secretary and has extensive knowledge of company law.

Kate arranges all appointments for the notary and makes all the preliminary preparations for appointments. We appreciate that quite often notary appointments require some urgency and every effort is made to accommodate appointments at short notice. Kate liaises with the client as to whether any further steps are required and what the needs of the receiving jurisdiction are. If additional legalisation is required, translation and courier services and the like, Kate will be able to advise you on how this can be done and the associated cost.
